Whether you are building a new home, undertaking a comprehensive remodeling project or addition, in search of cabinetry solutions, or seeking professional design services, I'm here to help. Artistic Kitchens proudly to partners with several high quality cabinetry makers. Contact me for an initial phone consultation to discuss your project.
What does it look like to work with me on a project? This is one of the most common questions homeowners have for me when they're at the beginning of the process! Keep reading to understand the steps, time, and cost involved.
We will have an initial call (usually Zoom) to discuss your goals for your project and make sure it’s a fit for what I do.
I’ll gather lots of information about your project: what you love and hate about your current space, your style preferences, storage needs, design influences, and budget. I’ll also need measurements and photos of the space. If you live in Southeast Michigan, this is usually completed in person. If you aren’t local, we will complete this virtually and I’ll use your measurements.
Storage and Organization Plan
This is where the design magic happens! I take all of the information gathered and design your space. I use a program that will show you 3D color renderings so you’ll see a pretty close representation of what your space will look like.
We will meet again to review your design and budget estimate. We will review your initial goals and the problems solved in my design. We’ll also discuss material selection, accessories, and options.
3D Rendering for a Design Proposal
To move forward with the project including design revisions or releasing drawings and plans to you, I require a design retainer of $1000. This amount will be applied to your cabinet purchase and elevates the priority of your project. Upon receiving the retainer, you’ll receive access to floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings.
I will work with you to refine the design and make any revisions. You’ll need to make final decisions on things like appliances so that I can prepare an accurate cabinet order. This may take a couple of rounds of revisions and meetings to hone in on our final design. Once the design is finalized, we will order your cabinets.
Your cabinets will be built to order. Depending on the brand and level of customization this may take a few days for an in stock cabinet, 5-8 weeks for a semi custom cabinet, and up to 3 months for custom cabinets. When they are complete, we will schedule a delivery date.
Your cabinets will be delivered to your home (assuming a truck can access your street). Depending on the truck size, there will either be two drivers in a small truck who will unload to your garage, or if it’s a semi truck with one driver, you’ll need people to bring the cabinets from the truck into your house. If you are local, I will meet the truck at your home and check the cabinet boxes as they come off the truck. Your remaining balance on your cabinet purchase is due at delivery.
Plato delivery in the mountains
I’ll work with your contractor or builder (if you don’t have one I can refer you to someone I trust) on installation plans. If any questions come up during installation, I am always available to help.
